I told one of my models about Trash The Dress and she is totally up for doing it. She is gorgeous and is a personal trainer so we will get great shots. All I need now are some ideas on what to do and where to go (we're in San Diego)! So if you have any I'd love to hear them smile.gif

Edit: These photos are more for my portfolio and to show potential clients what a TTD session would be like so they can add that to their package.

Here's her photo from one of our previous shoots:

Great- can't wait to see the pics.

Remember, it's not a competition to come up with the most outlandish crazy idea- it's all about getting great pictures for the bride- that she will appreciate. I know the beach and water shots have been done before, but they make beautiful pictures.

Reuben, think outside the box. Look at John Michael Coopers work. Search for videos he's done. Check out the guy on here that put paint all over the brides dress, I hear he's amazing...... oh that was me..... laughing.gif But seriously, I try and thank about the bride and what she is into and really go all out from there. Take the likes of that individual and find out of those things, what is the last of those you'd do in a wedding dress! Dude, take her to the gym and get her all sweaty and worked out. Bring a spray bottle with you for extra sweat. Have her make up run. Mess her hair up. Her in a dress on a lat machine...... Can I shoot with you?

Dude the possibilities are endless. Is there a muscle beach down there like there is in Venice? Take her there! Ok, I'm gonna start charging for ideas. biggrin.gif

OK, those are some pretty sweet ideas. I think she'll like those. I was also thinking of going to McDonald's or something like that and maybe getting ketchup and food on everything.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think that would be opposite what would fit her. You may not go this way but I think it's very important to make the shoot fit the person no matter what shoot I'm doing. Whatever you do, don't forget to post them so we can see.

you can't go wrong with downtown. There are fountains and water and docks and buildings and grass. It has everything. My favorite is around the convention center and seaport village. Check out the TTD of Jamie and Flynn on my blog to see this location in action!

Ohh yah, I know exactly where you shot that. That's a great location.

just think of something you wouldn't want to do in your most expensive clothing. smile.gif

ie:

car repair
abstract painting
berry-picking
grape squashing (who owns a vineyard? that would be sweeeeeet)
tree climbing
dog walking
walking in the forest
horse-back riding
go-cart racing
dirt bike riding
picking up seashells

and of course:

rolling in mud, lying on the beach, playing in a fountain, or siting on a sidewalk. smile.gif

if you put your own style to it, even the old ideas are fresh again. smile.gif

those are some great suggestions JK!

Mark's recommendation is the best, IMO. Since she's a personal trainer you should really play that up.

If you need privacy you could always use one of those apartment complex common area gyms with a universal machine...
