I have a question for those who care to answer. smile.gif

Do you process all images to your liking and then place them in the catalog for ordering, or do you just upload color corrected photos and allow them to select the options for BW, Split Toning, Lomo etc?

I am torn on what to do.. I guess just looking for a bit of Guidance...

Thanks!

Greg

I edit/enhance/color correct/add effects/tone all images.
So what they see is what they get.

When I photograph an image, I have an idea of how I want it to look when I process it and don't want it going out looking different than what I had in mind.

of course, my way takes a bit longer...

This is my current mode of operation..
Although Editing down from 2500+ images, and then processing each of those is rather time consuming...

I think I just realized, I don't charge enough. smile.gif

Thanks for the input. It is MUCH appreciated.

I felt the same way, I was so bogged down with all the editing I had to do it was driving me insane. I mean, I can sit down and edit a whole wedding in about 6-7 hours with Lightroom, but I'd rather be hanging out with my wife, my friends, or building relationships with clients, things like that.

Anyway, it took a few events, but they were able to match my editing style pretty good (makes me feel expendable!) After each event I send them, I let them know what they did well, and what I'd like to see improvement on. With every event it just gets better. They definitely understand color better than me...

It feels so good to come home, burn some DVD's and drop them in the mail the next day, only to get a sweet surprise less than 10 days later! They even upload to Pictage for me!

I feel like we are at the point that my editing is holding me back. I can't take on more business cause I'm too behind and I'd rather be going to chamber events, marketing, and actually having dinner with my husband or actually WATCHING a movie instead of just listening with the laptop on my lap. Do you find it is worth the cost? Did you have to increase your wedding prices a bit to cover the extra expense (I don't price my time well enough) and do you send EVERYTHING to them? I'd think that I'd still do small things like portrait sessions, etc and what if I can't make it look as good?!? haha!

I couldn't agree more - it's all about creating freedom like DJ says - freedom to enjoy life, and the things that you're working for.

I don't send everything to ShootDotEdit, just weddings. I still do E-Sessions and random portrait sessions on my own, but those are so much quicker and easier than editing a whole wedding, as I'm sure you know.

It's totally worth the cost, like every penny. Just build it into your packages smile.gif

No problem! And they are so cool smile.gif

When are we going to shoot together?
Art& Soul
Thanks so much for the link, I sat my hubby down and talked about it last night and I think we are gonna give them a call! No more late night editing over and over again. I'm over it!

I edit everything the client sees. Enhancements, contrast wb and such. It takes me 2-4 hours to edit an entire wedding in Lightroom.
