Hi guys,

I'm about to place my first order with Graphi for a studio sample, and I'm wondering which paper you all recommend.

I'm doing a 9.5x13 (a departure from my regular square albums, but I really want to try out the 4x5 pocket books).

So...any thoughts on paper?

Thanks!

I'd do the regular e-surface or whatever they call it photographic paper... the others don't float my boat as much...

but--did you know you can put a metalic spread in the middle of your book? That's what I'd do. :-)

+1. I like the thinner paper the best. I have had nothing but great service from Graphi. You love the small books as well.

I like the thick pages with the linen texture. Seems much more durable, and less likely to smudge. If this is a studio sample, that's what I would recommend.

I actually didn't care for the linen, so obviously it's a matter of taste and style preferences. And keep in mind that the metallic pages can have a "stickyness" to them, especially in humid climates (like Indiana), but it is very nice looking.

I prefer the photographic.

Thanks everyone!

And one more quick question for you all (which I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere on their site):

How do you name the pages? Is it just Page 1, Page 2, etc. What about the cover?

Thanks!

My most popular paper is the textured. Usually, I pick the one I think will look best for the wedding and only offer it unless it looks like they hate it, then I show em the others. I dont offer the photographic @ all because of the pink like that can sometimes happen in the center.

Is the pink in the seam? I am thinking of using them too..my sample kit is en route to my home as we speak..ummm I mean write!

We really like the photographic paper on the thicker board. I would use the thin paper if I had a lot of pages, but if it's 40 or under the board makes it look a little thicker, and I think it helps it wear better by client useage.

We don't recommend the linen as we've heard it may not be as easy to keep clean, but it looks like it would be dramatic for some events. We would warn the client to make sure it keeps clean.

I havent tried the metallic spread yet, but will prob do so on one of our next albums. I like the look of metallic but wonder if it will be one of those looks that will be dated down the road.

Love their books, and can't wait for this seasons albums to start coming in! but i gues that means we need to design the first tho....still waiting for the brides to get their pics back to us!!

Let us know what you go with and how you like it when it arrives.

i actually had to send a book back that had the photographic pages because they all stuck together at the edges- has anyone else had this problem? i'm concerned that once i get it back and give it back to the clients, that it'll happen again, and i don't want them to be without their book again.

for this reason, i prefer the textured pages, but i've only had one book done with them so far, so i don't have many examples to go by.
