moving is so hard (emotionally!) you get busy with packing and planning, and then it hits you. and sometimes, it's sad.
hope you love your new home and make millions of amazing memories there.

i have been moving since i was a kid. my parents packed us up so many times i thought for sure, i was a military brat.
which is why my 'home' is so important to me now. all of my adult life i have had emotional ties with each and every place i have lived and found it hard to move on. but once my stuff gets moved over, and i start to build the memories in the new place, i am fine. so will you.
me and my dad used to have a little 'ritual' if you will. every night before 'the move' just me and him would go to the new place and spend the night. sleeping bags on the floor, 12 in b&W tv plugged in on a box, jiffy pop..... and welchs grape soda. you get the picture.
i carried on that tradition into my adult life, as much as i could of course (welchs traded in for a Molsons), awww i love those memories!
out with the old and in with the new! you will love your new place and all the possibilities!

Awe... you hit the nail on the head and I'm a little teary for it. We're in the middle of packing as I type (took a break for breakfast), moving from 5yrs in Utah back home to Seattle. Thought I wouldn't care because we're so excited to be near family (and rain, we LOVE it) again but I'm realizing the PEOPLE I will miss. Thank goodness for air travel

and thank YOU for touching my heart with your story!
