FS Optoma EP-719 Projector $725 plus shipping.

Hi all,

I am selling my rarely used Optoma EP-719. It is better than new. What I mean by that is that it has a transferable extended warranty that covers everything including the lamp until Oct. 2008. Normally the warranty is one year on the projector and 90 days on the lamp. So, better than new. It has about 40 hours on the lamp. It includes the projector, remote, carrying bag, power cord and VGA cable. It will accept VGA, DVI, S-Video and component video.

This is a great projector to do client sales or show a music slideshow if their images because it is really bright. You do not have to be in total darkness for viewing. I have even taken it to a wedding reception to shoot a slideshow onto a wall. It will display 720p and 1080i so you can watch high definition movies on it. I have it hooked to my computer and HD DVD player. Here are the specs from the Optoma site.

Why show them on a 20"-30" monitor when you can project to 100"? Questions?
I have attached a photo of one of my clients enjoying a slideshow at their reception. No screen on an off white colored wall. Show it fast.......Show it BIG !!!

Tracy,

I'm planning on moving to projection, but I'm not quite ready. If you still have this when I am (I'm afraid I don't know when - it could be a few days, it could be a month), I just might take you up on it.

I'm afraid that I don't know much about projectors. At the moment, I do presentations in clients' homes. How easy and time consuming is it to set up on location? Would it be possible to use in a client's living room? I see the minimum distance to project is 3.9 feet - if it's only a few feet away in a cramped living room, can you still show big - at least 30"x40"?

Thanks - I'm really serious about this; I've just been bogged down with image editing and other stuff that I haven't had time to do my research yet.

Oh, another question - how durable is it? Do you freak out every time someone comes within five feet of it?

Thanks again.

Hi Aaron,

Setup is fast and easy. You just plug in the power cord and connect it to your laptop. The projector will detect which input you are using. The projector has zoom and focus controls to adjust the size of the image it projects. It can sit on a coffee table or mount on a tripod. I have used it both ways.

I have shot it onto a white or off white wall or taken a piece of white foam core or a stretched canvas. I'll have to test it to see how large it will project at it's minimum focusing distance. I'm getting ready for a wedding right now so I'll get back to you.

As far as durability, I don't worry about it. Granted you would not want to drop it but it isn't any more fragile than a camera or a laptop. I've shot across a dance floor at a reception before. Of course it was tripod mounted. Thanks for your interest. I'll get back to you.

Aaron,

Sorry to keep you hangin' I got busy then forgot to respond. I can focus the projector down to about 32 inches, much less than 3.9 feet. At that distance I get an image of about 14"x19" with the projector in 4:3 mode. I can't imagine needing to be that close.

I get a 29"x40" image at 77" from the screen. So about 6.5 feet from the screen/wall will get you the 40" image you were asking about. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if you are ready to buy. Thanks for your consideration.
