I found out on Saturday that I've had a photo accepted for my first exhibit! One of the galleries here in Chico is doing an exhibit as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of Bidwell Park, the city park in Chico. They requested all the local photographers to submit images of the park, and a group of artists picked the photos for the exhibit from those submissions. My image of the Bidwell Park Tree (see my post in the Random Images forum) was selected for the exhibit!

Thanks, guys. smile.gif It's been an exciting month photographically for me. In addition to the upcoming exhibit, I found out that the local community college has an awesome photography program. So, I signed up for a photo studio arts class. It turns out that this class teaches commercial photography techniques and includes a lot of details about the business side of photography. We'll also be learning to use a 4x5 view camera, which is something that I've been wanting to do for a very long time. Once we learn the camera, we can even check it out and use it for projects over the weekends. I hope to have a bunch of 4x5 transparencies by the end of the year! dancingbanana.gif biggrin.gif

Oh my gosh! What a small world it is. Now there are 3 of us from Chico on this forum? That is too awesome. Congrats on your photo! Where are they going to be displayed? I can't wait to see them all.

For those who asked, the exhibit will be at the Gallerie de Souza (on 3rd Street in downtown Chico), and it opens on September 25 and runs for about a month.
