Are you as passionate today as you were the day you started your business? If you are great! If you're like many of us the passion can come and go at times and here I talk about how to stay excited and passionate about what we do.

Kind of reminds me of when your a kid and the circus or carnival is in town. You can't sleep because your so excited about it.

a few weeks ago I was at home and this same thing came up, my 9 year old sister was super excited about the carnival the next day so she told me she was going outside to run around for a few minutes so she could go to sleep. It made me laugh because she really did it, then was out within 5 minutes. laugh.gif

Anyways, more so relating:

I've been extremly excited for my last two weddings and I'm even more excited for the one coming up in August. Thank's for posting this!!!

Hey Carrie smile.gif This is so funny b/c in college I did very little school work before dropping out but I remember running back to my room after classes to get my camera or to play on Photoshop because I just couldn't wait to try something new!

Being able to bring ourselves back to this place of childlike excitement is important.

For me it was shedding the suit and tie. Every studio that I had ever worked for ingrained in me that I had to wear a suit and tie...for those clients it was appropriate. My clients would get peeved if I dressed that way now...whoohooo!
John + Lovina Arcara
Hey Dude,
Lovina and I praise God every day that we actually get can feed our daughter Molly by doing a "job" that most people in the world do as a hobby. I was born into this and know nothing else. I'm sooooo happy with that. A long time ago I was into the music scene. A singer in a punk rock band. We got real popular in NYC and NJ, but you know, something was definatly missing. I didn't even know it. I thought I had passion for it , but , it wound up that all I had a passion for was getting wasted, and not remembering where I had been the night before. Well now I have a beautiful wife , who I am MOST passionate about, who stuck with me stupid ass through it all. I have a perfectly naughty daughter, Molly , who has brought me to a new level of being, and I have a successful studio that is making US famous, not ME famous. Man if I wound up a rock star I would have gone the route of Kobain or Buckley. Its such a lonely place. This rocks fur sure! its great to not be on tour and be home with your family whenever you want. AND if it wasn't for My Wife, I would be out of luck!!!

ps thanks for this forum as well because its helped as well, and influenced me to help others wth their craft

DJ!
Thank you so much for the video pep talk!!! I am buried in work right now, and really needed to take a step back and remember why I am doing this, and get pumped up about
it again. We are really blessed to be in such a great line of work. The industry is so special and the photographers in it so helpful. The awesome clients and photographers that I met every day is one huge reason why I love this gig! Thank you so much for getting me to take a second and look around the work load, and see why I love taking photos and how I can get that excitement flowing!!!
All the best!!!

Thanks so much DJ... just what I needed!

I feel the same way about my "big bag". At my wedding last weekend I was so hot and tired by the time we got to the ceremony I felt like a wreck. Would have loved a shower! I just ordered my shootsac and a couple of awesome covers. I can't wait to get it!

Thanks again for the inspiration.
