Full Version: After the wedding?

I'm interested in hearing what different people do as far as meeting with the clients after the wedding, showing the pictures, discussing the album layout, etc.

I'm just now starting to take my business to this next level; when I was doing it part time, I just slapped the proofs up on my website and let them order whatever. Now that I'm offering albums, I need to do a much better job at customer service/follow up. First of all, I'm going to buy the EZphotosales thing for my website for print sales. But do you put the photos up before you meet with clients? Create a slideshow? Album pre-design?

I'm totally clueless on this part of the process, and this is one area (among others, of course smile.gif ) where my business and service needs to improve. I'm definitely not maximizing sales by my laissez-faire procedures in the past (which were, really, just from lack of time because I was also working full time with 2 young children).

Now that I'm taking this thing full time, I need to change the way things happen after the wedding.

Any direction and/or advice?

Thanks OSP!!!! smile.gif

This is what we do. We first post a teaser on our blog. We let them know by email or phone that photos are on the blog. They tell their family and friends and helps drive traffic to our blog. Then we have them over to our house, where we have built a home theater that will seat up to 10, and have them and family or friends come watch all their photos on a DVD slideshow. There they get their preview albums to take home, and make selections for their album. We also have extras that they can order, or some things come in their packages. All of their photos are on collages.net as well for family and friends to order from. We had 18K in online sales last year. Hope that helps.

What about people who live out of town, though?? People who can't come to your home or studio to look at the photos?

I'm interested in this question, too!! smile.gif

Ditto that. I never seem to have in-town weddings. Probably has to do with moving too much. tongue.gif

Thank you! That does give me an idea about what's done. Unfortunately, we don't have a nice in-home theater (much to my hubby's disappointment smile.gif ).

What do other people do who don't have such a nice set up in their home or studio to view the pictures? Do you schedule a meeting with the clients, or just let them know their pics are up on the web? How do you follow up?
