Calling any and all lightroom gurus...

I'm fairly new to lightroom and was really liking it so far. Then this morning I open lightroom and it decided to re-crop all my pictures making every horizontal picture vertical and every vertical picture horizontal. UGH. Why did it do this? Is there an easy fix to make my crops go back the way they were? Also, I had tweaked the tone curve in many images and now all the images have the same curve! Why, lightroom, why?

Any thoughts?

Sounds like you sync'd images to one you'd cropped & tone curved. If you still have Lightroom open just go Ctrl Z and undo until it says "Undo Sync" and you should be ok. If you don't have it open still...not sure.

Shoot. Well I'm past the Ctrl Z stage since I started to recrop. Bummer. But I'm noticing that in the history of every image there is "crop rectangle" twice and some tone adjustments. I just have to backup the histories on all the images, which I've started to do. How do I ensure that this doesn't happen again? Where would I go to see if I've stored some preset.

Also I'm confused because I worked on the images last night in lightroom. So they were already imported when I went to open lighroom today wanting to do an export. So it's not an import type preset. Just something it did when I opened it up today. Why didn't it just save as it was yesterday and open as i'd left them. Did I miss a step when I was done yesterday?

Hmm. Now I'm just thinking outloud.

Thank Matt. I'll watch out for weird syncing steps now.
