Hey friends,
Shot a wedding yesterday in San Diego on the US Naval Base. There were 4 other weddings going on at the same time. I walked the b/g outside to the beach and noticed there was no one else out there shooting. On our way out to shoot at sunset I noticed this beautiful rainbow. Just so beautiful. Was anyone else shooting in SD this weekend? Did anyone else see this?

I think it's off too. I'm going to work with that some. This is pretty much straight out of the camera with a little lightening in DPP.

Actually, the couple hasn't seen it yet. They postponed the toasts to do this with me and then ran back in to the reception. They were on the dance floor the entire time the slide show was running and when I left with them, all our gear was packed. So maybe they'll check their email while they're in Costa Rica..... On their honeymoon...... Having fun......... NAH!

hey mark-
that images sure is AWESOME! since you PM'd me about actual critiques, here's my honest thoughts.
= )
- the image is a tad warm for my taste.
- there's a slight tilt on the image. maybe like 3 degrees... not much, but if it was me, i would totally make that ocean line totally horizontal.
that's it... and those 2 are rather small things... i'm more like "nit-picking" because it's such an awesome images in the first place.
there's my $0.02,

You know there is much debate over the horizon line oddly. Some people think I should leave it tilted so that people don't see it as so perfect that everyone thinks it's fake. I already had a guy say I photoshopped them in. Any more input along those lines?

the horizon doesn't bother me. I think the area on which they are standing is large enough and flat. you might burn the life guard shack on the right a bit.

WICKED FREAKIN' COOL!!!!
I've never seen a double rainbow in my life! And to be under the arch like that - awesome!
I'm not that worried about the angle - but the sand DOES seem a smidge yellow - I'd love to see it when you're done!
And you really don't think they'll look for it on their honeymoon? While in Costa Rica? (insert sarcasm here). Just kidding - when they get back they are gonna absolutely FLIP!!!!!!! God surely blessed them on their special day!
All the best,
Roxanne

Outstanding image, Mark!!
I agree this could be an award winner, but definitely work on the tones. And maybe try a copy with the horizon straightened to see if you like it. It didn't bother me at first, but now it does a little, and if you actually submitted it for a competition, that could affect the scoring.
What an awesome moment!!!

Great shot Mark

This is personal opinion but if a horizon is going to be tilted then I think it should really be tilted enough so people know it was shot like that purposely and not because the camera wasn't held straight. I think straighten it & ignore anyone who says you photoshopped it in!

Thanks everyone for all the input I'm really excited about this image. I've never entered anything in a competition before so honestly, don't even know where I'd find one to enter. Guess I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. I have another version of this image where he's dipping her. I love this one too. Is the color better or did I go to far the other way? Let me know your thoughts:

Thanks again for your input,
Mark
