I have started using a spare 580 EX flash on a light stand with radio receivers attached, using it as a side light, back light etc. The only thing is it keeps powering itself off after a couple of minutes of non use. I can't find my manual and wondered if there is a setting in the custom functions to stop it turning off.

Yes there is, CF 14-1 turns this feature off so it will not power down
