Awesome Bro! Awesome!! thumbsup.gif

I bet color takes on a whole new meaning on your new monitor.

The two field shots are sa-weeet, but the one with the hay in the foreground is honey to a bear. Just glows so Niiiiiiiicce!

You have those group shots down bud. I remember a time when you weren't all that experienced with large groups, now you have become the expert.

The second to last shot is money too, but all are great!

It has been such a pleasure watching you and your photography evolve these last couple of years. You work hard, you're a great guy, and you deserve it!

I'm excited to see where you are going, and hope to be by your side every step of the way.

LOL!

Outstanding! You had a busy weekend but, it looks like you had a lot of fun. I think they are all great. Was #8 all natural light? clap.gif clap.gif

those images are incredible! the light and emotion are perfect. the last one is my favorite, nicely done!
LukeWalker
#8 was indeed all natural light. it had just rained about an hour before that shot so the sun was trying to come out, but wasn't blasting. i set the groom, jason, up just on the line of shade from the tree so he was in the light, and then set the guys up about 6 steps behind him so they were feathered off by the shade. if the light was blasting it wouldnt have worked, but with the subtle transition it gave jason just enough illumination to make him pop out.

and frank thank you very much for that kind response bro, it means a lot and especially so coming from someone who i regard as highly as you.

That all came together perfectly... again amazing work Luke.

Luke, you really nailed all of these shots bro. In checking the exifs, you used the 50 and 85 alot. LOVE how you used them to their full potential bro.

And that group shot is superb. I don't know how I would have set up that one, but you certainly make it look good with such a large group.
Shane Snider
Luke... you were at the Saratoga battlefield...huh? I used to live in Saratoga Springs. I love that town. Great shots.

as always, its a pleasure hearing from you brotha! i did indeed use the 85 quite a bit. i snagged alisha's 85 out of her bag last week before an engagement shoot (which i posted on OSP as well, in the vineyard) and made myself use that lens exclusively. i absolutely loved what i was able to get and found it being my go to lens for this past weekend as well. guess who just ordered a new 85 last night smile.gif

thanks shane! i didnt even know it was the battlefield to be honest, they just stopped there and sprung that group shot on me. sweeeet! im glad they did though, sometimes when clients put you on the spot like that we get our best work. i remember being totally surprised but confident we'd nail it... just walked away with a huge smile. sometimes the "best" shot of the wedding isn't even the best actual shot or anything anyone would pick out ya know?

Is this in Saratoga?

yes, and im starting to pick up a secondary market in saratoga and loving it. saratoga is gorgeous with some nice venues and isn't exactly over-saturated with talent (of course what is when compared to the city). i could shoot there every weekend.

9 and 11....

thanks amy i really appreciate that. i feel those shots have become a staple in my style and am always looking to pull those off. its like ive bought a pair of glasses that specializes in finding locations like that. the greenery shot... totally just some un-cut shrubbery type stuff in the back. im sure everyone who saw us shooting there was like WTF?! its gotten to the point where i need to make shots like those happen or alisha wont even let me post em anymore LOL
TJ Cameron
nice shots bro. i like the portrait in the tall grass as well as the last 3.

Love #1! Great way to show off her unusual dress!!

#8 is so funny, and still a great portrait of the Groom!

The colors and light in #9 are SWEET!

AWESOME WORK, MAN!
frankdigiorgio
Beautiful shots indeed. #13 is classic for sure...

Beautiful!!!

I would love to know your settings for the fireworks shot. SS, AP, ISO..flash or not? Thanks soo much! I appreciate it!
LukeWalker
the fireworks settings were as follows from memory-

manual mode (a MUST for fireworks)
f/6.7
half a second shutter speed
ISO 1000

i also used fill flash, but i believe the fill was set at about -2/3rds of a stop to prevent it from blasting the clients. in addition, the fill flash also allows the clients to stay relatively sharp even at half a second because the flash prevents any blur due to camera shake.

ps - i dont know what dress rachael wore, but noel had a gorgeous reem acra so its cracking me up that people seem to like rachael's more than noel's. that reem acra was freakin smokin in person!!
amorphia
Luke, great shots, especially 3, 9 & 11. Love the colors in those last two.
