Seems that all my posts keep ending up in this forum!

I am now working on getting some nice packaging together. I plan to package and deliver orders myself at this point and want some high quality spiffy presentation that shows clients that what they are receiving is a valuable commodity.

So far I have ordered some 5x7 and 9x12 ponchettes from paper presentation and stickers to close the folders. Thinking of incorporating some ribbon as well (maybe?) and adding my business card to the pack. I would also like to order some glassine sleeves (not clear but frosted) to put the prints in (one sleeve for each print size) so they are not loose in the folder. Sound pretty good so far I hope? Let me know if I'm on track!

However, now comes the larger items like prints 11x14 and up as well as gallery wraps and albums . How do you all package these larger products? I'm guessing that the albums just stay in the presentation box they came in, but I'm stumped with the rest. Any suggestions would be a great help to me.

Thanks so much again - your comments are always greatly appreciated and steer me in the right direction! thumbsup.gif

Shoot- I wish I had a big order here right now so I could take a picture for you!

All my prints 11X14 and bigger are all mounted on matboard. I use the presentation envelopes from www.paper-source.com (which I love) for my 8X10's, and a separate envelops for the 5X7's & wallets. I tie them all up together with a wide satin ribbon- it looks fabulous! As soon as I get a print order next week, I will take pictures of all my fluff.

I use the the DVD case, 5X7 slip in album & wallet album from jlee- so they are all in their own presentation boxes.

I was using a solid color jumbo gift bag from the dollar store to put them all in, but I am now looking into something a little more unique. I was only able to find a bag that would fit up to a 16X20 and the top peeked out a bit- but still works really well.

Thanks Alicia. That would be tremedously helpful if you could take a picture of an order and post it. I'll be on the lookout!

So for your 11x14s and larger - do you put them in anything for protection before putting them into the gift bag? Seems like they might get damaged if you don't.

I love Paper Presentation--they have such neat packaging. I have the 5x7 pochette and 9x12 and so far haven't had to package anything else bigger than that.

Looking forward to hearing ideas!

Actually, I keep them in their plastic sleeves that they come in from WHCC....not so classy, but it works!

My wife and I use http://paperboxandspecialty.com/ for our boxes. We currently have two sizes we use. 8x10 which we put everything small in with tissue paper and a business card. Then a 16x20 for our larger prints. We have mostly been doing portraits and our packages come with a 16x20 matted print so that is why we choose those boxes. They are stamped with our logo in the bottom left corner with silver leaf on a black box. We then put those into envelopes and send them off. We are going to buy some 5x7 boxes so that when we give proofs we can put them in that.

I think I've posted this before, but here's what I use:

from CafePress - they are 15" x 18" x 6" perfect for storyboards, albums, etc. and mom's love them because they are reusable - great for toting around the kids stuff! All my friends want them!

What a great idea!!! I couldn't seem to find them on the cafe press site- do you have link directly to the bags? Thanks for sharing!!!

How about those glassine sleeves for individual photos? Does anyone use those? I just ordered some so I am curious.

I use the pochette folders and stickers from paper presentations also. For big prints or other products I usually wrap them in brown kraft paper and tie ribbon around it. It's really cheap, but it actually looks nice. The kraft paper works for me because one of "my colors" is brown, and it doesnt make it bulky for shipping. If you are delivery prints and stuff yourself, thin boxes with your coordinating colors would be nice.

That Cesare Pavane quote has always been one of my favorites too! smile.gif Fabulous bags, what a great idea!

For my big stuff (11x14+) I have a giant stack of oversized tissue paper (red, of course) that I wrap them in and stick it with my logo sticker. I also keep the print inside the WHCC plastic for added protection.

I just got a big order (20X24's too!) so I will take pictures of my stuff this week when I recieve the order!!! I promise! smile.gif

Great topic!

I'm curious too....I do framing, and haven't yet found a way to nicely package a framed wall portrait. My frames come in what the frame supplier calls "presentation boxes," but they're just plain brown cardboard color.

Alicia, I'd love to see how you package your 20x24s! Does what you do work for 24x30s as well?
