Hello All,

Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this. We moved to the East coast a few years ago from Oregon, and were forced to leave behind a 16' speedboat that's been in our family for about 40 years. Having it professionally shipped costs way more than the value of the boat (movers want to move 50' yachts, and their prices reflect that).

Just thought I'd ask if anyone happens to be heading eastward from the West Coast, and has a vehicle with a hitch. Even if you're not going all the way to the Atlantic, maybe we could meet you halfway.

Coming our way but don't have a hitch? I'd be happy to have one installed on your vehicle. And gas money to boot.

Anyone heading East any time soon? Is this the nuttiest thing ever posted to OSP?

We're in NYC Metro, so that's the ultimate destination. If I could get it within a day's drive of here.....

So far I have an offer to take in from Portland to Salt Lake city. I've made a progress map:



Maybe there are a few OSPers making shorter trips that the boat could make it most of the way across. That would be amazing!
