Hi all, it has been a while since I have posted!
Here is a quick tip video on creating fabulous fashion lighting on the cheap..
I came up with this rig about 6 yrs ago when I was still doing alot of "hair world" (photography for salons).

This is very good (and cheap)! I used to use this type of set up when doing Fine Art Reproductions for my art clients. thumbsup.gif

Good ,simple and cheap....luv it! Just never had the budget for Kinoflo's back in the day.

Tell me about it... I used to rent those bad boys all the time - yikes!
Then one day I was at the Home Depot and picked up 4 heavy duty shoplights and daylight balanced tubes. I think I spent a whopping $75 that day. thumbsup.gif

where did you get the stands? do you basically just do this for upper body shots?

You can, but it just doesn't spit out enough light.
It works best if you get your subject close to the light source and lens - like in his vid.

you could but i would suggest doubling the amount of banks and mabe add another one on the floor.Then again you can use a high iso but the further the lights are away the more you loose the wrap effect. Hope this helps..

Can't wait to get back ...my 2nd home....was a few weeks ago in the north end shooting up in St. George,Utah. Alas it will be a few months have weddings in Ireland, France next month then northern US for august and one wedding in Tokyo before PartnerCon in LA....looks like my next one is in Oct. in Arizona.

And I forgot to mention, that this was all shot in my videographers small living room.(he had a nice neutral wall color...lol)
