Full Version: SI Effects for Lightroom
OpenSourcePhoto > GetIt > Showit Effects

I use the SI Effects on a regular basis and one of our favorites is the LOMO. Is this available as a LR Preset? Is there anyway to make it one?

I really want to stay in LR as much as possible, and go to PS only when needed for a few select images.

Hey, Mark. I really wish that you got an answer to this question because it is exactly why I logged in today. Can you load Showit Effects into Lightroom?

Have you found an answer to this questions since July? It would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jason,
DJ sells a pack called Brilliant Presets for Lightroom. I do not believe that Showit Effects is available to be loaded into Lightroom. However if I am incorrect I'm sure someone will pipe in and advise.

Thanks a lot, E (awesome name by the way). That really does help. Do you happen to know if the Brilliant Presets for Lightroom do things such as LOMO and X-Process, or are they just totally different? Thanks again.

There's no LOMO effect in the Brilliant Presets, but there is a X-Process preset, but it only works well sometimes.

Jason, have you tried this website? >>> LightRoom Killer Tips

It's got some presets on there, and new ones are released every monday or so. I saw a lomo one on there but it gives it a mean green hue to it. I would definitely love to see ShowIt Effects intergrated into lightroom, cause LR is my main place for color correction, etc. Major stuff is done in PSCS3...But yeah. Check it out.

as flexible as lightroom is, you should be able to tweak some presets and make one that is close to the lomo effect (inc. sat & darkness in blues, tweak vignetting, contrast, etc.) Just as in Showit Effects, it's not going to work for all images, but the use of Lightroom custom presets has drastically improved our workflow. We still use Showit Effects for reception shows and for the enhanced images in the collection because sometimes you just can't get that perfect LOMO without it smile.gif
