I recently installed the new Photoshop CS2 (woo hoo -- ShowIt is next!), upgraded from 7. Now I can't keep hitting command-z to step back throuh the history panel? I must use option-z after the first time. I see that there's an option for it in ImageReady, but not Photoshop. Am I doing it wrong?

Hmm... I'm on photoshop 7 and it works that way. Undo erases the last step.. but anything beyond that you have to use the step backwards command (I think it's ctrl-shift-z)

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure there was an option for it to work the other way. Hmm. I guess I'll just get used to the "new way" of doing things.

On a mac in CS or newer versions of PS (I thought version 7 as well, but I guess I might be thinking wrong) to step back farther than 1 undo, you need to use "Apple" + "Option" + "z" ... on the PC the commands are "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "z"

If you do step back more than one step, you can then just type "Apple" + "z" to go back to where you started... or "Ctrl" + "z" on the PC.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, PS 7 defaulted to doing it the "new" way, but you could change it. And you still can in ImageReady. Oh well, no biggie.
