I need new cards now that I've relocated, and I would like to get them pretty fast. Who do you all recommend.
I was not very happy with my last batch. The card stock was nice and thick but the color was off.
Thanks!

I've gotten some from Overnight Prints that were GREAT and some that had off color. The ones with off color were ordered in a pretty large quantity, so maybe that has something to do with it.
I recently ordered some from WHCC and really like them. Of course the color was great, but I didn't get UV coating (for some reason) and the cards get a "beaten up" look pretty quickly without it. So if you're going to go with WHCC I recommend you get coating on one side at least.

Thanks, Libbie! Did you get the standard cards (min. 250) or a short run on special paper?
I'm wondering what mine would look like on the Pearl paper with UV.

Bruce, I LOVE my pearl with UV coating rep cards from WHCC. It's the pearl that makes them special. Nice and thick, color spot on. When are we getting together in Princeton?

Thank you, Tami. I'll look into that option!
Julie, I have a sample of the pearl cards in the sample pack WHCC sent, and they feel much thinner than most normal cards. But these are samples of their regular biz cards, I believe. So if I went with the Pearl Rep Cards, they are thicker? More durable?
Matt, I'm also curious about the Silk Cards from 4ColorPrint. Ever tried or seen those ones?
Thank you, everyone, for the info!!

Bruce,
The pearl with UV coating rep cards are pretty thick -- comparable to Overnight Prints' card thickness, but not quite that thick -- almost, but the OP cards are REALLY thick. They're really inexpensive, and you can order as few as 50 at a time, so what you could do is just order 50 to see if you like them or not. It's 12 bucs. Order them today, you'll have them by Monday, latest. I agree that their "business cards" are too thin. Yuck. You gotta order the rep cards with UV coating.

OvernightPrints has done very well for 3 different sets of business cards for me over the last year.

Julie, I think that's exactly what I will do, just to try them out in a quantity of 50. I was pretty interested in the Pearl paper anyway.
I'm still not finalized on my plans for NJ, but I am going to be in the Philly and Wilmington areas next weekend (7th-8th) and was planning on heading to NJ that Sunday afternoon.
I'll let you know!

Silk Cards from 4ColorPrint. Ever tried or seen those ones?
I've done these twice, they're really nice. They have a totally matte look to them, but they're coated which gives them a thick, velvety feel. The second time I used 4color, there was a problem with the registration that affected about 50% of the batch (I'm supposed to get credited towards my next order). I've got to say that they're not the easiest company to work with, but unlike many out there, 4color can do custom sizes, rounded corners and such. I submitted an e-mail through their website to get a custom quote a few months ago, and I never heard back.

I use metalcards.com from the suggestion of DJ. I've been REALLY happy with their service. I sent greg the .EPS design file on a tuesday afternoon and a batch of 100 metal cards were at my door wednesday... in CANADA. crazy.
People just go nuts over the cards, it's pretty cool.
They've never seen anything like it.

i just ordered my first set of moo cards and can't wait to see them and I'm also putting in an order to 48hourprint.com I have been really happy with them in the past too. But on some other threads here haven't said very good things about overnightprints.com so I choose not to order from them.

Hey Bruce,
I have the silk cards from 4 color print, as well as the 30mil plastic ones. LOVE both of them. I'd suggest getting the thickest paper stock for the silk cards though. I ordered the 12pt stock, and they are a bit flimsy, imo. The Silk 300 is the thicker one. I ordered the regular silk cards thinking that they were a 14 pt. paperstock.
