If the sharpening is really decent, that will be a true bonus! We do not do the KK sharpen, but having to go over to photoshop to sharpen is a pain. At our last PUG, Liana mentioned that LR1.1 sharpening would be much, much better (she had just returned from the NAPP LR seminars).

I also noticed there is now a Clarity slider. Anyone know what this is for? It seems to be something similar to sharpening/noise reduction.

The clarity slider is similar to Kubota's Daily Multivitamin action... runs a large radius unsharp mask which helps to defog the image and makes it pop a little more.

downloaded the update yesterday while in the middle of batch processing a wedding. Some nice updates included but I got about 20 crashes in the middle of processing while version 1.0 never crashed

Few things I noticed: better noise control, faster, ability to edit capture time (not sure if this was in v 1.0 but it saved my butt last night because one of our cameras was out of sync by an hour! I was able to easily select all the images taken with that camera and adjusted the capture time in seconds.)
I hope it was just an off night for my pc regarding the crashes, otherwise I'm gonna have to revert back to 1.0!

Very nice update to lightroom... subtle changes but very useful!
I like the new sharpening, a few great options there. The crop tool seems a bit more refined, and the clarity slider is reallly sweet for such a subtle change.
Another thing I noticed was that images load a LOT faster now. Instead of waiting for a whole folder of images to load (it was never horribly slow, but slow nonetheless) LR seems to be doing a much better job at that now. Also, batch rotating while in grid view has been re-worked, and the animation of the rotation looks different, as well as the fact that the images seem to rotate faster without temporarily clogging up the program (lame description, but you get my drift)
Lightroom is coming along nicely. I look forward to seeing what they do with LR 1.2 ;-)

Has anyone using a PC version had any problems with their library converting to the new catalog?
Any other upgrade issues?

Can anyone tell me what kind of settings they typically use when sharpening in lr? I'm having a hard time deciding where the line is drawn between it looking naturally sharp and hokey.
