Suddenly, out of nowhere, our images are being attacked by crazy amounts of noise. I don't understand. Back in the JPEG day, I was not seeing any noise... Suddenly, we become RAW shooters, start correcting in Bridge, and walah! I have noisy noisy images. I am SO stressed out.
That's all.

Gosh, I have no idea Amber! Is this a just recent problem or been having it for a while. Are your old images still Ok? What ISO are the affected images at?
Can you post up an example? That might help....
So Sorry!!!!
~a happy canon shooter....

I can see if I could help, if you post an image with the meta data. Sorry this happened to ya.

Maybe my eyes are just noisy...
Been shooting happily at 800 and even 1600... the meter in our D1x's suck, so am consistently having to overexpose in camera...
I have been looking at weddings, editing for the past three days straight.. We finally went to bed at 4:00am yesterday. I think I may just be seeing more noise than normal...
I mean, I totally expect noise at high ISO's... I expected grain with my film, and I expect noise with my digicam... BUT, I don't understand noisy outdoor well exposed images.
Maybe I should take a nap.

A nap might be a good idea.
Sometimes if I'm at something too long I need to get away from it. The D1x just WILL have high amounts of noise at high ISOs. I've seen it from the 2Dh, which is a "better" camera. I'm sorry you're having that problem though! Get some sleep and see if tomorrow you don't see more noise than you are used to seeing at images at that ISO.
I would be more than happy to look at an image if you posted one as well.

I think we may have solved the issue... (and I am not excited about posting a crappy image... I must keep some secrets:) )
I just needed to vent. (and yes it is 1:18 am and we are both still working

)
Come January it will probably be a couple of new cameras for us... until then we will deal with it! There had not been the high noise issues previously... I think it has something to do with what we are doing to them in post process! We'll figure it out!

Careful though Amber....don't beat up on the computer too much.
It might fight back.
