Full Version: I am so mad at Apple!!

(My apologies for the long story...I'm venting....)
I took the plunge and spent oh, a good $3500, on my third Mac, this time it's a MacPro. I was so excited when I ordered it.
I chatted with sales reps online twice when I ordered the Mac to make sure I could save a little $ by ordering a refurbished MacPro and installing Bluetooth and Airport Extreme myself. They built up a cart for me and I ordered the bad boy.
When I got the computer, I installed my own Bluetooth and tried to install the Airport Extreme card they ordered for me but, after 8 or so hours on the phone with Apple, I came to find out that it's not only NOT a DIY part, it cannot even be ordered on the internet - they suggested I drive 2 hours to my nearest Apple store to pick one up. I said, no and they basically ended up sending me a new MacPro.
I thought the saga was over...until a day after I get the new machine up and running...the bottom 1/4 of my 20" display turns grey and won't go back to my screen! So, I've been working on 3/4 of my display for 4 days while they were supposed to be shipping me a new video card that I could install. The card was supposed to be here Friday...no card...I gave them a little breathing room and waited until today (Monday) to call in. I just spoke with a rep and THE CARD HASN'T EVEN SHIPPED!
While I was on the phone with them, for some reason the bottom 1/4 of my screen came back for like 2 minutes...I was so excited but they still said they would send out the new video card, just in case. I am so thankful they are sending it because now it's right back to grey.
OK - I'm I just crazy or is this absolutely ridiculous?!?! I am so extremely frustrated with Apple!
The worst part about this whole video card thing is that they don't even know if it will fix the problem! It's just a guess for them right now.
Please, anyone have any idea on why the bottom 1/4 of my screen is grey? It stays grey (though changes the shade of grey) throughout start up and shut down.
Any advice you have would help.

How frustrating.

You've probably already done this, but try unplugging and replugging your monitor from the back of the computer a few times. Sometimes my screen garbles up and that's how I fix it.

"Bummer dude".

The good news is that they'll make it right in the end. Hey look on the bright side - you could be dealing with Adobe on this. happy.gif

Thanks Kevin. I've tried that but maybe I'll try it a few more times. I'm desperate! I have a wedding that I've been really looking forward to doing a reception slideshow at this weekend....I'm desperate!
