id love to hear what people are using to edit video clips? id like to start putting some cool little clips together from video ive shot in the past but really have no clue what to use.

Ok, I assume you are wanting PC recommendations. Don't have any other than Windoze Movie Maker.

I use Camtasia to make screen capture movies.
I use iMovie to make my movies for my blog.
I want to learn & use Final Cut, but that's on the WWAAAYYYYYY back burner.

Final cut express... Not that hard... Lynda.com has a training and you only pay $25 to watch it online.

OO! I got Lynda for free when I upgraded to CS3!

I use Avid Media Composer at my day job, but at home I have Avid Xpress Pro. Xpress Pro has an extremely powerful interface built on about 15 years of Media Composer releases. Avid actually has something called FreeDV which is very stripped down, but good if you want to get your feet wet. And it's free! I'm in the city every day, so if you go with Avid I'd be happy to make a house call to help you get started.

Final Cut is certainly sexier and you'll sound cooler if you say you use it, but Avid is solid.
