I added the Nikon 10.5 fish eye to my bag toninght. I thought it would be a fun new toy. So, do you have any suggestions? I plan on playing with it a little at my wedding tomorrow. Do you typically shoot wide open with a fish eye, or stop down a little? Is it better to be close to the subject, or far? Any other good tips for me to keep in mind when I play tomorrow? Here are my tests at the camera store!

Ok, now I wanted to play at home too... here is my dog!

I love my fisheye. It is a ton of fun to have. I took wacky portraits when I first got it:

But it is cool in "serious" situations as well:

Or when you are getting your hair cut:

I find fun situations for it all the time. thumbsup.gif

It's great for capturing toast shots from below...you get kind of a neat effect from my experience. I set it on a timer and run so that I'm not in the picture. I typically shoot wide open. You'd be surprised at the sharpness you get (and the greater DOF than other lenses I suppose), the saturation...I love this lens!

Thanks, Yea, it was hard not to get in the picture! My legs and camera strap kept sneaking in. Do you have any samples of that toast image?
