Does any one have any PS actions or techniques for cross-processing an image?

I like Kevin Kubota's action set.....for a lot more than just the cross processing actions.

Here's one that's free:
Action Central Scroll down to "Urban Acid." I usually have to tweak the files quite a bit after it runs to get the look I'm going for, but it's still a great tool.

Greg! You call also purchase the action as part of an action set at
www.nitorix.com! The best cross-process affect that I've seen yet!!

I'm with Nathan. I have both the Nitorix and the Kubota's action sets and if I have the option of using one or the other, I use the Nitorix sets about 95% of the time. I really only use 2 or 3 of the Kubota actions (and not very often at that) and none of the ones that I use are cross process effects. I feel the Kubota ones are a bit too contrasty for my taste.
But hey really it IS all about taste in the end. One is not really "better" than the other outside of what your personal opinon is. I love Nitorix and that's about all there is to it!
But....that's "my" taste. You may prefer the Kubota ones more. It's really just up to you.

Ok, here's 4 images from a recent wedding with the two cross process effects. (it should be noted that both programs have two different cross process effects. I am only using one of them, the one I think is probably the better of the two from each one).
Also, I didn't do anything to the opacity of the layers in any of the images. I just left them as they were.

I guess I should tell you the first one of each pair is always the Nitorix effect. The 2nd one is the Kubota.
In my opinon the Kubota ones just look a little too blue or purple. I like the colors of the Nitorix ones a bit better.

Thanks so much for the comparison. I really think that the Nitorix pictures have a much better tone to them. Thanks again.

Definitely... those Kubota ones are just way too magenta.

Cool, no problem guys. Yeah, I agree about the magenta Reuben. Sometimes with the Nitorix actions I'll go ahead and add just a hit of red to them to give them a little warmer look.

Ok I am a little confused. Which tool should I get for cross processing? Showit or automactions? I thought Sarah Barlow asked that exact question and David said to go with Show It.

ShowIT is made by DJ and Nitorix and utilizes quite a few of Nitorix already automactions. So go with ShowIT.

Thanks for the comparison of images Chris. I have been wondering about the difference of the two action sets. This really helps.

One other major difference between showit and the Automactions set is that showit will not process RAW images and will only save processed images as screen res jpegs.
This is because showit is not designed for post-production work. It is designed to enable more people to create an amazing slide show in as little time as possible.
Don't worry a post-production tool is in the future....
