Johnny
Hello all,

I am currently trying to configure my ZenCart on my "Pro Shop" site...
I will be having downloadable products up there and for some reason I can't get the download links to show up after someone checks out.

Does anyone here know anything about Zencart? 51.gif

Hi smile.gif
I use Zen Cart for my photo jewelry. I can't help you with the exact problem that you are having but I have found an answer to every question I've had about it on their forum. You can find it on the website. www.zencart.com
They are VERY helpful on the forum!! Good luck!

Johnny,
The guys at ZenCart have a book..

Thanks - I saw that they had a book.
But I had already figured out my problem by then...

Now I just have to get the products, product descriptions and images online and I am ready to go live.

Of course, I will need to maintain it - get the meta tags in place - and drive traffic to it.

Matt - I tried OS Commerce and it would not work for me on my server. Even though it's available as an auto install through Fantastico. I loaded the cart and it was really buggy for me... So I tried ZenCart (next in line onf the Fantastico list) and am happy with it. PM me if you want a sneak preview.

Johnny, Im interested as to what you find out. I am in the process of building a store, and that is the problem I am trying to figure out right now.

How to get to the custom download section when they check out.

Post up on what you find out.

Johnny
Hey Nick,

What kind of store are you making?

As for the downloads - it's all in the attributes controller section.

First - You have to make sure that when you create a new product, that you've uploaded your file to the downloads folder (a secure folder btw). Then when setting up your product, you point that product to the url (it's at the bottom of the page when you're setting up the product).

Second - make sure you have your Option Names and Option Values set.
Third - In Attributes Controller - you add your product, and select your Option Name and Option value and tie it to the product.

If you want, we can go step by step on the phone (it's easier for me that way) when I get back from Denver.

I'd love to help you out in any way I can. thumbsup.gif

Holy crappity Johnny, your frikking awesome!

By the way, your the person that inspired me to start an online store believe it or not.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that you were offering textures. Having never dealt with these, I gave it a shot.

I am now hooked.

Hooked so much to the fact that I went out and shot over 300 textures from wood, to concrete, rust, corosion, metals, fabrics, etc.

Next week, we are heading to Texas for a week....yeee hawww. I plan on shooting over 1000 textures during the week that I am there.

I am using Zen Cart, and the host is Go Daddy.

So, that would be super awesome of you!

Awesome!

Or you could wait a little bit for my ProShop to go live and then offer your stuff up there.
It's going to be like Pictage in a way - you get me your files, product descriptions and before/after images. I'll host it - post it and cut you a check at the end of each month.

That way, you don't have to do all the work you're doing now. thumbsup.gif
