I am having a difficult time finding a reputable place that still sells new Canon 580EX flashes. Links that say they do, end up being links to the new 580EX II, like Amazon. The few ones I have found are almost exactly the same price as the new II. I can't find my receipt to see what I paid for my current 580EX when I purchased it some time ago, but really don't remember it being over $450! It seems like it was in the 300's.

I usually get my gear from B&H, but they only seem to have the II.

Can anyone recommend a reputable place that sells 580EX flashes and tell me if I am crazy about remembering the price to be in the 300s versus the high 400s for the new II?

Thanks Chet and Deb. I was hoping to find a new one for under $400 but I think I am going to be out of luck! I must have forgotten how much I paid for my first one...they couldn't have gone up in price after several years and after being replaced by a new model. Hmmm.

I paid 379 for mine at B&H.... 449 sounds horribly steep!
