so... we've now had two shipments come from WHCC with photos that had their corners bent in shipping...

anyone else have these sort of problems?

Honestly, two times is too many times in my book. The first time they shipped out a replacement immediately. The second time, well, let's just say I've started looking for other labs...

Is this a problem others are having?

hm...no problems here... Sorry this is happening... Did you tick the UPS man off or something?

Hi Tim,

I've never had a print bent or dinged at the corner. Did you happen to keep the card of the person who packed the order?

Were they bent in shipping (I know that's what you said) or bent at the lab and packed that way? All my shipments from them seem overpacked more than undderpacked...

But there are certainly other choices out there. One right down your way comes to mind....

honestly... the second time, it was small enough that I just kinda used my hands to flatten the corners down, they weren't "that bad"...

the first time though, the print was a 30x40, and it was JACKED up...

Maybe I'm just being picky now because of the first one?

I've never had anything arrive from WHCC bent or damaged in any way, in fact they've all been amazing and packed really well. Twice does seem like too many times though. That sucks.

honestly if you call and get it replaced and its received so shortly isnt that good customer service? i have had where a matboard you could see the spray underneath. call and they sent me the replacement so super fast. i go off of customer service too.

Pretty positive this has been a shipping issue both times. They look pretty "high tech" safe how they package the stuff with wrappers and stuff... but honestly, it's happened the two separate times.

I don't think I'd be as worried about it as I am, except I'm wanting to have a lab that I can trust to drop ship stuff... and there can't be a single issue where they ship a print to my client and the corners are banged up...

Honestly though, am I just being too anal?

Not really - it's not too much to expect for prints to arrive in good shape.

I had a set of 8x10's from whcc which got the corners bent up in shipment (about 3/4" bent, not creased). They were in a flat mailer envelope with a cardboard backer. It wasn't bad enough to notice once framed, but could have been worse.

I have larger prints mounted and those are boxed and have arrived in perfect shape, even though the box sometimes takes some beating.

I have notcied at times, my images come a little bit warped and I know it is because they are on the UPs truck all day and we live in the desert and I think it is the heat. It has happened twice. For the first time, they replaced them, the second time, I just let them lay flat inside my house for about an hour and they were fine.

I can understand the concern with drop shipping. I have yet to do that- with any company for that matter, because I wasnt to be sure to see the images before I give them to the client. But who is to say that once I ship them, they won't get messed up. I always call the client and make sure they received the images and make sure that they arrived looking ok to them.

I am sure anything that goes through the mail has potential to get beat up.....I really like WHCC's qaulity and customer service. Hope you get it figured out. Call them and express your concerns and see what they have to say about it and see if they have any suggestions as to why it could be happening or what they can do in the future to avoid the same issue.

You? Anal? Never!!! laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

I've had a love/hate relationship with them for the past two years but lately it's been more on the love side of things. They can't really be held responsible for shipping mishaps, I'm sure your clients would understand that.

Never had issues with WHCC shipments/products, except the one time my delivery guy decided it would be smart to place the mailing envelope under the leg of my planter on the front step. So there was a nice embedded mark in the middle of all of my images. Thankfully it was just my test prints and nothing needed professionally. I was sure to put my delivery guy in his place. boxing.gif

It's the print gnomes....find them and destroy them. wink.gif tongue.gif

I"ve had a couple of mishaps & they have corrected them exactly to my liking.

Overall I love them.

But, if I was you, 2 orders like that....I don't blame you for looking elsewhere.

Jen and I use Whcc, and so far we have had no problems, but before we used to use MPIX and we had alot of problems with them. Now the printing was good, but they could not mount worth anything. But WHCC so far no problems.

I haven't had any problems at all with them....I've always felt they packaged everything well and even if the box took a beating, the prints haven't seemed to. Sorry this happened to you! I understand the frustration though....maybe you could talk to your delivery man?
