Robin had a post a while back about what refurbished products meant from an engineers standpoint and I think she said something like the product is fully inspected and anything that needs to be fixed is repaired or replaced, then it is shipped out in the same condition or better condition than one off of the assembly line smile.gif

I know she is busy with her albums and weddings and work, but maybe she can add to what I said.

BTW, I have never used refurbed gear.

I always used to be a little wary of refurb gear, but my current boss actually used to work at a refurb shop. He said that you were better off buying refurb because each piece has to go through testing not just a couple samples from the assembly line. The only risk you run is that you get a piece that was an oversight, and goes out the way that it came in or half repaired. These are usually easy to spot and and fewer and further between than new bodies that have defects.

I'm currently really looking at that d80, though I might wait around for the used d200's to pop up when the killer d3 comes out *crosses fingers*
