I believe in riding the wave.......I am having a Trash the Dress session Saturday so
I shared the New York Times story with my local newspaper and invited them to come
out and watch my Trash the Dress session.......for their own story..

Denise

i assume they are coming right? if so, then that is one smart move on your part! excellent marketing strategy!
mark eric
Yep- Viral marketing. Tell them about the other spots too Denise. Let them know you are an admin on the site as well, maybe that will get their attention
Lucky Red Hen

Nat
I actually got an e-mail from an OC newspaper who wants to cover the bash. Super cool!
denisen

Question: Would you do this with the media before or after the shoot?

If you invite the media to come along on the day of the shoot, wouldn't they be in the way? Would they have their own photographer/videographer with them?

I would be so nervous and spazzed out with a media crew following me around. It would probably even interfere with me creating my art!

How about just submitting some images to them after the fact?

Very smart Denise. You should have someone there with a video camera to document. Definitely SPM work.

Super idea! I just shot an email off to my local paper! Thanks thumbsup.gif

Oh and.... what if your TTD site is someplace you wouldn't want to draw attention to? Like if your sneaking into someplace. (and you have the press following you around??)

ETA: I should say that I am playing the Devil's Advocate here, because me personally, I would say, CALL THE PRESS!!!! Call everyone!!!! smile.gif
denisen
hmmmmmmmmm I need to find someone to video tape it.....thanks for the
idea....

We just shot our session with Good Morning America. It was very pleasant. A camera guy, A sound guy, and a reporter. They let us do our thing, they stayed out of the way. I had another photographer, and 2 videographers on our crew (including Joshua Smith)- We had no problems.

Great news Denise.

Not really, we were such goofballs.
Bride # 1- we shot her in a nasty bayou. Her mom didn't want her ruining her $2500 dress- but the bride was stoked about it. Her mom kept asking if the shots were going to be "glamorous"- sure they are wink.gif

Bride # 2- she was one of my bride's from a year ago, and she is one of the sweetest girls I know. We threw her in a carwash (which Beadele photography did recently too- so I can't take credit for the idea). The suds were three different colors, red, green and blue. It was really fun.
denisen
OH My gosh.....sounds like you had so much fun!!!! My bride for Saturday asked me
if I thought her hair was gonna get wet???? Hmmmmm YEAH!!! laughing.gif

AWESOME IDEA!!!!

I thought about that, but I wasn't sure how it would work. I wouldn't want soap to get in her eyes and all those chemicals!!!!!! I'm guessing you just did the "basic wash" and not the "super wash"

There is a car wash here in town that the entire thing from start to finish is enclosed by glass so you can see the entire process from the outside!

Hmmmmm........ smile.gif

denisen
I know......I've been thinking of something off the wall too!!! hmmmmmmmmmmmm
