I don't know if I am dumb or what, but this is not an easy program to simply pick up and run with for simpler things.

First let me say that I got Kevin's tutorial for albums and I am going through it and for that it's great. But I am trying to do a simple brochure to put our house for sale and my goodness, I have spend about 30 mins just trying to change the color of some text and I can't. Other than the red/orange gradient and black, I can't find the color picker to save my life. I know this thing is powerful, but for simple things of just dumping an image and formating some text on a page, MS Publisher is simple, intuitive, and so darn easy to pick up that even I didn't need any kind of tutorial or "training" of any kind to get some decent documents done.

Another thing: If I am doing a bulleted list and I want some text without bullets, how in the world do I do that?

Sorry to vent, but I am just so frustrated that I want to get going with this thing so I can complete my migration from PC to Mac, but I seem to end up getting stuck with little things like this.

Anyone one know a short "Getting Started" article or tutorial for ID to get going quickly? I appreciate your inputs.

sorry to hear about your problems ...

to change the text color, just click on it > then highlight > then click on the 'T' that appears in the toolbox where the forground and background color are > then choose your color just like in photoshop.

here are some good places to get help:
