Danielle
Hi everyone,

My name is Danielle Gillett. I am not sure if you remember me or not but my friend (Peter Thomsen) posted a message to pray for me in November a fter I was diagnosed with cancer. God has truly blessed me during the process and I am now in complete remission. Thank you so much for all your prayers. Not only did God heal my body but I also made it through my treatment without hardly any side effects. Praise God.

I have been studying photography for some time. I graduated from SJSU with a degree in photojournalism and recently started shooting weddings. I love to look at the work you fellow osp photographers produce. You humble me and I would love to learn more.

Aside from photography I am a youth leader at my church and I love to be outdoors. I used to compete in triathlons, but lately I am just resting my body from the treatment. I can't wait to get strong again, and compete.

Thanks for all your prayers, and I look forward to learning from you.

That's sooooo awesome that you've been healed. God is amazing.

Amped to see someone else with an interest in bikes. (I know, she said triathalons, but she's got a pic of her with her bike)

I hope you gain all of your strength back quickly.

Danielle-

I cannot imagine the depth of understanding/peace God has given you in your longsuffering. I don't know what to say but praises to God that he has kept you here to worship him and make him known. I pray that you may continually recount and experience the blessings God has given those around you through you--through your fight with cancer.

SDSU-pj-santa cruz-mount hermon(?)-cycling---yay!

Santa Cruz.. I'm jealous! SC has the best donut shops! there's that awesome one at ocean and 1, ferrell's, I think its called. and I remember late night crispy creme runs (all the way down 17 up all the way to mountainview with the counselors and program staff at mt. hermon. those looked like Ponderosa mountain boards on your web site-- I was "the mountain bike guy" in summer of '01. was a blessed time at Mount Hermon. if you have no connection to mount hermon much of my post will seem foolish... sorry bout that.

I also saw your sea otter mountain cross pics, what year was that? I shot it in '04, I was too much of a pansy that year to race dual and mtn-x.

sdsu- was Jim McNay still there during your edu?
he was our faculty chair at Brooks, still is among all the brooks scandals.

anyways.. stoked to see a pj kid on this board! I don't shoot many weddings, but I pretend to and hang on the board. I'm out in Naples,FL shooting for The Naples Daily News. you know, the whole internship circuit.

I'm on the front page if you get this on friday!

anyways, forgvie my uber-long message that may be 50% irrelavant.

Hi Garrett,

Your are right I am very blessed by the grace and peace that God has shown me. I pray everyday that he could be glorified through this experience.

Wow it seems like we could have met in a bunch of places. I was summer staff photographer for Mt. Hermon years 02 and 03. I loved shooting mt bikes and extreme sports at pondy. That is cool that you were the mt. bike instructor. You have to admit Santa Cruz has some of the best trails for riding.

I shot the pictures of sea otter in 04. My ex boy friend was racing 4 cross it was a fun event to shoot. I still make him do tricks for me because I like to photograph the action. We may have been shooting at the same time.

Jim McNay is still a legend at SJSU, but he left for Brooks the year that I started so I didn't get to learn from him. From what I hear he is the best. So you are the intren at Napels. Does Lexi work there?
Tell her hello if she does she should remember me from State.

I checked out your stuff on sportsshooter. I looks great. I never made an account there but most of my friends from college all post pictures on the site and forum. Did you ever go the conference? I also checked out your picture on front page. Good job. Always impressive when the intern gets front cover.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.

wow, small world. you must give Bob Russel a huge hug for me next time you walk by his office or see him on a walk and smiling slyly about something humorous God has done or made. So you know Scottie G. and all those guys. did you ever hang with Nate Henry in summer 02? he counseled that year and I just went to his concert in SAcramento in June. anyways, he would always take his kids to the skate part and go on rides with me. I love that guy. yeah, those trails on the backside of UCSC are sweet!! I love Felton and SC.

hey, I shot mountain cross in 04 also, cool. were you there for the big air comp? My buddy Sanjay jumped my cruiser, Rosie (the big ol' red one with a deemax rear rim) and landed it 2x. Greg herbold was with a OLN Camera and interviewed him after he jumped rosie. oh yeah, he then jumped a pixie bike.

mtn-x
that's a pic of my buddy Curtis, I think he got third in semi-pro mtn-x that year.

yeah, Lexi works down here. she is rad! and an awesome shooter! I will surely pass on your greetings to her. I may even see her tonight at a party someone is having.

ss.com is great, you should join! (<-am I a recruiter!?!?) glad you liked my alaska stuff, atleast I think that's what I've got up right now. I will update it soon. oh yeah, i got the cover again today, that's cool. a unique courtroom shot involving the mistrial sexual predator. ironically it was the same photo I was talkin' about in the canon mkii forum yesterday in regard to silent/delayed shutter cocking.

so next time i'm up at Pondy I'll look you up for sure! We can go to the hippee health food store and then to the yummy icecream/shake place on the corner there (there = unknown street & intersection)

Another one from San Jose!!! Well I don't actually live there anymore... sleep.gif , but I'd love to meet ya when I take a trip out there... My best friend is still living in SJ... I moved to Colorado about a year ago... I look forward to seeing more of your images... I love the one in your avatar!

Thank you everyone so much for the welcome. I can't wait to learn from all of you.

Gregg next time you are in San Jose we should try and get together. I actually live in Santa Cruz but San Jose is not to far away.

Grarrett I said hi to Bob Russel for you and next time I see Scotty G I will tell him hello. He is a great guy and funny too. I went on a Mt Hermon camping trip with him to Wildflower Triathlon. I think he won 3rd place in his age group. I am not sure if I know Nate, but I am pretty sure that I was introduced to him at one point. Next time you are in the area lets go for a ride. I am getting stronger all the time. Good photos from sea otter when I was photographing people weren't getting so much air. I think my ex-boyfriend was racing in amature. It was kinda low key, and early in the morning too.
