My mom makes these amazing cards that I use for each and every one of my client mailings. They help me create that "boutique" "just for you" "personalized" relationship.

She's awesome. And she makes them almost obsessively. So i've got 200+ right now. And my sister has more....and decided just to open an Etsy shop to make better use of them!

i love etsy! and your mom's cards are cute. my friend and i have been making quite a collection of jewelry and decided to open an etsy shop to see if we can sell anything to pay for our expensive beading habit!

my wife showed me etsy a few days ago, and I'm going to try to sell large canvas landscape prints, which for now consists of all of one shot, so I'll have to force myself to go out into the country and do some shooting.

Thanks for sharing! When you say you get cards from her that help you create a boutique feeling, that sounds like something I am interested in. Does she use personalized images for each card/client?

the cards aren't personalized per client per se. but she never makes them quite the same. and what she makes highly depends on her mood and the time of night. I have some really lovely victorian styled ones....and some really odd ones that are very abstract and dark. i have such extreme variety that i can pick cards that suit the personality of the client.

what makes it a boutique feel is that you can tell they are specially handcrafted (with stamps and paper and collaging, the envelopes are decorated etc)...and not mass produced. and they are just different than cards mos people have seen. i get a ton of compliments on them.

the more personalized attention & the better attention to detail, the more boutique you are. you don't have to use cards to do it, just whatever you find that makes a difference for you. I don't quite have it all down yet, but i'm working on it.
