Hi OSP,
I've got another "baby" question for you and could use your help and advice.
How do you create
this b/w look? There's something very "rich" about the black tones that I just love! Any advice/direction you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks and be blessed!

sometimes my bw techniques are ultra simple but i think look great!
i simply adjust levels by darkening the darks, brightening the whites and the mid just depends on the capture.
you can see my bw stuff at www.davisphotographer.com to compare.

Sam, it kind of looks like "the new b+w" or one of the "bronze god" b+w actions from Kubota. They are warm and delicious!

This is very simple to do! first make your image B&W using the channel mixer. make a hue/saturation layer and click the colorize box and then drag the top slider to the left around 20-35 and then drag the middle slider to the left anywhere from 0-15. On both of the sliders you just need to find out what works for you. This this the B&W method i use as I love the tone. I have never used anything since learning and developing the mthod to my taste.
I hope that this helped.
Also as Jim said adjust you image to work the tone. I prefer to use the curves, but you can use the levels also.

Highlights are blown, and shadows are blocked up.
This looks like a LAB mode b/w conversion to me.
