What are the benefits of the Quantum pack over the Canon CP-E3 pack? I don't usually have any issues with batteries dying during weddings, but I could use some faster recycle times. Is the Quantum worth the extra cost?

Which do you use?

Thanks
Jeff

Depends largely on how many shots you need to get, and your minimum recycling time. I have the Quantum packs, but rarely use them with my 580EX's (I do use them frequently when I need the power of my QFlashes). The thing to be careful with when using either battery pack, but especially the Quantum, is that the Canon flashes still have inherent limitations in how much continuous shooting they're capable of before the heat is too much and they need a cool-down break.

I like the Quantum battery, but I only use it with the QFlash. Like Steph said, it depends on how many shots you're looking to get. With a CP-E3, I would only bring 1 additional set of batteries to cover a wedding. That's 4 in the flash, 8 in the CP-E3, and another 8. You might also want to check out this site:

He's got a couple of different battery packs available (in different sizes) that are more affordable than the Quantum units.
