For those of you who are in need of a really powerful tool to help you manage your office workflow, read on! For those of you who are tired of the "OSP spamming," go look somewhere else! laughing.gif

We've shifted gears from the web version of Photographer's Office which we will be phasing out, and have moved on to a new and exciting version for the Mac!

Photographer's Office will allow you to stop relying on "lose-able" sticky notes and your overflowing brain to keep up with all that you have to do in your daily workflow! Photographer's Office will help you manage everything from client workflow (wedding and portrait packages) to daily tasks (paperwork, errands, phone calls, etc.), and even help you manage your personal life!

The application is built to run with the Mac OS, which means that it syncs with iCal, .Mac, and your PDA! It will also allow you to sync Photographer's Office across multiple computers for those of you who have employees!

Even cooler, the app is currently FREEEEEEE! Just download it, watch the tutorial videos, and see how you can best incorporate Photographer's Office into your workflow!

Second, in conjunction with the release of Photographer's Office, we will be offering 2 FREEEEEEE phone consultations to OSP users who are in a need of an office workflow makeover! Just drop us an email at info@photographersoffice.com and let us know why you need a makeover, and the winners will be announced here by the end of the week! You can read more about our consultations at www.photographersoffice.com under "Consultations"!

Would you like to know about any typos in the demo???

tongue.gif
Kevin King
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!

That's JUST what we needed as my wife is currently taking over, er, uh, "creating" an office workflow for us.

Suggestion:

As this was once web based, is it possible to make it web accessible? In other words, to port the data to a web page some how? This would make it easy to have it central on a mac, but easily accessed by any computer - in the field, in the next room over, on a PDA, on a PC, whatever. This workflow stuff is really great if it's one guy using one computer - but real power in these sort of apps is when multiple people can collaborate with the same set of data - keeping multiple people on track with the same workflow process all stored in the same location.

Thanks for the effort on this one guys! It will be much appreciated.
April Rocha
Any chance this will eventually be available for PC-users?
Nathan Holritz
Hey Nate! If you're referring to typos in the screen shot, then it doesn't matter as that's my personal version... If you're referring to typos on the site, then pass them on via PM! Thanks!

Kevin! The cool thing is that Photographer's Office will sync across multiple computers via .Mac. So if you have .Mac and Photographer's Office on multiple computers, then you're set! All info is shared, and of course everyone can sync to their PDA as a result!

April! Good question! A lot of that is going to be dependent on the success of the version for Mac. Definitely a future goal! Until then, drop me a PM and I'll point you in the direction of a PC alternative!

This is great! Bring on the questions!

mac software... now we are talking! i am going to have to take another look.

I'm on PC so this solution doesn't currently work for me (Nathan pointed me in the right direction for a PC alternative), but I just wanted to say that Nathan and Amber rock the house.

They're great people and I'm sure their software is an excellent way to manage workflow on a MAC. smile.gif

Hello all,

The PO screen looks similar to Palm Desktop, which is designed to be used with a Palm PDA, but works well as a PC or MAC organization solution. Free downloads for PC and Mac are available.

But, if I use Pictage for my outsourcing, why do I need this?

Haha... Yeah... I think this is one of the biggest road blocks for people trying to implement a system like this. The reality is that it might take a day or two of sorting through your to-do's and projects to put them into place, but once you do, it'll be totally worth it! It's amazing to feel like you know EVERYTHING that's currently on your plate... rather than the standard approach to doing business for a lot of people which is "I've got so much to do that I can't even keep up with it all!"

You or anyone else let me know if I can help in any way!

smile.gif
MikeWarren
Congratulations on getting this done! We are not mac people (yet), so now Im stuck! I can tell you that in the minimal amount of business we are doing at this point, the to-do's are growing everyday, and getting them organized is paramount!!! You guys rock!!!

Hey Kerri! Photographer's Office runs on Mac OSX 10.4 and above!

OK - after looking at the program and the tutorials I see that this is really just a task management application, correct? In your previous version of PO - were there more features that automatically populated information and emails? This seems to eliminate a lot of the things that you were doing with the previous program. I can see this being a great application to sell along with the GTD book, but perhaps not robust enough for streamlining my workflow? I'm genuinely interested in finding a workflow management program that automates certain tasks I perform on a regular basis... this seems to outline the tasks, but not automate them, right?
Kerrib
RATS!! Foiled again!
Another reason to go and invest some money at the Apple Store.

I still love you iMac circa 2002! (Dang this thing is old! I NEVER had a PC this long!)

Thanks anyway Nathan!
BethC
You guys rock!!! I've been playing around with it for the past 15-20 minutes and once the Clients section is added, it's gonna be perfect for my needs!

However, the only issue I'm having - it's not saving anything. I keep getting this error and nothing ever saves when I reopen the software.

Right! Again, simplicity is the key here. If we were going for an all-inclusive application, it would be a whole different ball game! Rather than creating a whole new workflow for you guys too learn with hours and hours spent learning all the ins and outs of a new application, this tool simply gives you a place to put EVERYTHING so that you don't have to manage it in your head or pieces of paper or stickies.... all of which have a tendency of getting lost!

I think that one of the biggest reasons that photographers don't move forward in their career at a faster pace is because they don't know where they are, they may or may not know where they are going, and even if they do, they don't have the steps broken down well enough to make the process manageable.

This application helps you take care of those problems (in addition to simply helping you manage all of the packages that you sell to your clients)!

So excited that it works for you! As you may have noticed in the tutorial video(s), you can simply edit the name of the project (or client's package) by adding their last name to it! This takes care of the "client" feature until we release the next full version.

I believe this is the error that our programmer was attempting to fix with the new version he sent me today. He's got to fix one more thing and we should have the new version (with your error fixed) tomorrow! I'll announce it then!

I can't stress enough for everyone to watch the tutorials at the Photographer's Office website to better understand the functionality behind Photographer's Office!

I would also highly recommend getting Getting Things Done, by David Allen, which will better help you understand the principals behind Photographer's Office!

Hey guys! Just a quick note as I noticed we have had some more downloads in the last day or so... We are working to get the bug(s) fixed and a new beta version released here shortly!

Hi Nathan,

I sent you an email like you requested at the begining of this thread (for people interestd in being considered for a free phone consultation), and I just wanted to let you know that your auto reply is sending me an email about every half hour since I emailed you. So I've gotten 4 of the same auto reply in the last 2 hours. I didn't want to send you another email because I don't want to continue to recieve emails over and over, but I did want to let you know so you can look into the situation.

Thanks for making this software available!! I'm psyched to check it out.

Cheers,
Shawn

Crazy email... My auto-responder is set up on the server, and I don't have any way of managing the number of times it goes out unfortunately... I've had a few other people tell me the same thing... (Sheepish look on my face... smile.gif )

Sorry about the trouble, and I will be in touch with you about the consultation!

AWESOME!!!

I have been looking for a solution like that and most of the are very confusing and very pricey. This one is easy to understand, simple to use but very effective way to handle your time and tasks.

I downloaded it and is already working for me.

I believe this is a bneta, right? Hope you let us know (I am sure you will) as soon as the final version is out.

Thanks!

I downloaded this a while ago and finally got around to watching the tutorials and giving it a try. I can really use the organizational help!!!

One of the first things I did was to make some project templates, and even though the tutorial shows how to drag the actions into a different order after I type them in, it won't let me do that. After I grab and drag it just pops back to from whence it came.

I know I am probably missing something basic-can anyone help me?

Thanks!!

Vanessa
