Hello, I recently bought a Vivitar 285 HV, its working great.
Iwant to know if thers a setup so I can combine my Canon 550 and the Vivitar at the same time, is it possible?
I dont have pocket wizards, I was wondering if its possible of ouf the box or do I need something.

Please let me know.

You can use an optical slave. Shouldn't be more than $15 or so. The Vivitars are weird in that they have a proprietary sync socket. Search B&H for "Peanut Slave" and you'll find some that'll work. Almost any camera store will have some sort of optical slave you can use.

You'll need to shoot everything manually -- including your Canon flash -- so be sure it's not set to anything TTL. Auto (not TTL) will work, but your exposures will be inconsistent.
