Today I bunkered down and tried to catch up on some emails. I set out to reply to 100 emails today and I made it with one minute to spare. My eyes are starting to go cross-eyed but I made a big dent in my inbox and I'm so happy!!!

I almost gave up at 85. I actually took a screenshot and I was gonna make a post and go to bed but then I said no way! I'm so close and so I jammed out 15 more in the last 30 minutes. Wow. Off to bed now. Thanks for your patience everyone! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Opensourcep...9/i-did-it.html

LOL - I am working to outsource some of my communications but 90% of the emails I get are from photographers who I've met at conferences or things like that and there is no way I would ever have somebody else respond to those emails. I love chatting with photographers and even though I prefer doing it in person and then on forums it's still wonderful to get email messages and I try to respond to all of them even if it takes a few months.

Typically I won't continue a conversation over email because I think email isn't meant for conversations and so I want to spend more time with people in person.

Remember these wise words from Jeff Jochum:

"NEVER outsource something critical to your growth and survival. Ever. In a small, lifestyle business like wedding photography, this normally includes networking for referrals, reputation marketing and other outbound things that require your touch."
