It would be hard to retrofit but we are considering building a new house sometime so this would be a great option.

I saw that in a British design magazine. We liked the idea so much we bought the issue for $10.

We were really gung ho about this until I thought about the possibility of the stair-drawer sticking open (even if the rails are tilted down to auto-close) and someone losing a knee... That could be a liability nightmare!
