I'll be taking a trip down in a couple of weeks and I'm looking to procure some camera gear (yay for a strong Canadian dollar)! Anyone know the best vendor(s) in town?

Thanks!

I am not sure of the best vendor...but one of the most popular in town...and the one that I use most is Pro Photo Supply. I spend a lot of time...and money there smile.gif. I have always worked with very nice and knowledgable sales people every time I have been in to browse, purchase or pick up prints.

No problem. If you need any restaurant or bar reccomendations there are some great ones in the area...as well as some great places to practice with your new equipment. Not sure how familiar you are with Portland...but I am happy to answer any questions or provide reccomendations.

have a great trip!

Portland is great - let me know if you need any recommendations for other stuff. Pro Photo Supply is great. Avoid Camera World. You will have a super trip!

Are you into sushi? you need to try Saburo's.

Italian: Assagio

great views: At Waters
Steak: Ringside
Thai: Sweet Basil , Thai Orchid (yeah a local chain, so what)

You have to visit some McMenamins bars. We have sh*load of pubs, coffee houses and stripclubs. McMenamins pubs are great, and there are many other ones. Try some local microbrews. Skip Starbucks, will ya?

For Sunday brunch, go to Skamania Lodge. Reservations required. Beautiful view and trip.
As you can tell I love food.

Am I into sushi ?!? Am I Asian?!? thumbsup.gif

OMG...I'm *dying* for some good sushi. Victoria, is unfortunately lacking in good joints in my opinion. Vancouver...that's another story. Tons of crazy good sushi there! That pic of you holding that plate of sushi goodness is awesome...and your smile...hahaha!

Thanks again, Evrim! Imma gonna get me a 5D *and* eat some good food!

Cheers,
cj
