have you hit anything else? are the folders still open? are they greyed out? if yes, just hit escape. It should return them to normal. You can also try CtrlZ to undo the last cut or the last paste or ctrl Z on desktop to try undoing the last anything.

If you closed stuff & that, paste again... maybe in a different spot.

I didnt realize they were missing until I had copied and pasted all the images (in two different folders) so I have NO idea where they are...tried pasting again. looked in the trash just incase they got deleated. looked in other folders around it, looked on both computers. I AM LOST!!!

Just do a search for .CR2 files (if you're using Canon) or whatever the counterpart is, if you're shooting something else.

Afterwards, going through the search results see if there are any files OUT OF PLACE, in a directory they shouldn't.

Also if you know what sequence of file numbers some of the files are like, 0001.cr2 and you shot 200 shots, and files 75-200 are missing. Do a manual search for 0075_IMG.cr2 for example.

Whatever you do DON"T REBOOT, TRASH THE RECYCLE BIN or Copy anything else.

Do the search first, and if worst comes to past, get Zero Asumption Digital Image Recovery from here http://www.z-a-recovery.com/digital-image-recovery.htm

Good luck!
