I didn't know quite where this should be posted... so I hope this is the right spot.

My question is.... In light of all the scams and bogus emails and such (I just received one for a photo contest I didn't enter!!), do any of you submit your photos for publication, or is that just a waste of time??

I have been researching this issue a lot, and wanted to know what your opinion was.

I don't submit to publications, but it is something I intend on doing. It is free advertising, why wouldn't you submit? Are you talking about wedding magazines?

I don't care what other photographers think of my stuff. Only that the brides are happy.

Well, magazines are pretty safe because they are major corporations. I am getting email scams because of my blog. There is a company that keeps emailing me about a photo contest I won.. but I didn't even enter it! However, they do have a picture from my blog... so that alarms me.

I was just wondering if that has happened to you all... and how you deal with it.

any more thoughts??
