This is my first post and everyone seems SOOO friendly on OSP I finally thought I would suck it up and ask for advice. Maybe it will save me some unneeded stress. This weekend I am shooting a wedding outdoors....at night. I hear it will be lit only by twinkle lights, candles, some of those decorative hanging light thingies (the correct name is totally escaping me right now). What is going to be my best lighting solution? Is that question too vague? I don't feel like my SB800 mounted on my camera is going to be enough. The lighting is going to be harsh I would think. Any suggestions? I have a couple of photogenic lights I can use...if I know what to do with them and a Q-flash that doesn't get nearly enough attention.

Hello from fort worth! hmmm... I am not one to ask this question, but are you speaking of using the flash after the ceremony? We don't use flash during the ceremony, but I have been practicing using my (crappy) photogenic light on just model light as a one light source. My last post

was done with that technique and a high ISO and it seemed to work great to me, but beyond that the q flash works great at night and has a high range. I prefer it diffused so it doesn't blow out the dress though. Diffused makes it a little less irritating to the guests and couple as well. I hope that you find some answers here. There are a lot of very smart photographers here. I am awful at flash sad.gif

Either way... hello from fort worth!
