Soooo, I'm thinking of leaping in and doing a wedding fair before next season. I would like to have a DVD running and I LOVE Showit. I don't wanna be changing the DVD constantly, so what I wanna do is have a slideshow which contains several different weddings - so one song per wedding, but running continuously. Is this possible? If so, how many songs can I use and how do I do it? I'm on a Mac, if that makes any difference.
Also, I'm confused about digital download option - does that mean I can download a show, burn it to disc and package it myself? Is the show the same size/quality etc as if you guys had burnt/packaged etc?
Thanks!

something to consider, the wedding fair i did i was worried about music too. I had a laptop, but the wedding fair had it own music planing quite loud, so you couldnt hear mine. Just somehting to consider.

You can edit songs together using Audacity, which is a free download. It sounds like you should just do a slideshow on your computer and let it run rather than burning it. I just let mine play through the iPhoto gallery.

aww..hope...thats so kind to say!
I reread regina's comment and realized that I only did the audio part but it makes for some great show it slideshows/any type of slideshow - and then u can do "fit to song" (in this case really 2 songs) and the story progresses right along quite nicely at a good pace.
Another option too would be to let itunes/windows media player run with a big playlist in the background especially if you need a whole few hours of music - that might be a lot easier than piecing it all together in audacity or something similar.

Great idea! We can do multiple shows on a single disc if you'd like and I think we can set the DVD to loop for you as well. We would need to process each show individually as a digital show and then we could combine them onto one disk and ship it out to ya!
...and yea you're correct about the digital download. It's the same DVD quality file that we'd use to burn the show but if you're doing mass duplication it's best to just take the digital version somewhere and have them print out a million of them.

Cheers DJ. I can burn the digi download to DVD directly on my Mac, can't I?
What would the price be on the combo - multi show disc?
Thanks to all who've responded - I have been using iphoto and I like the full-screen show, but I don't like the lack of control over Ken Burns effect and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the timing to beat part of Showit slideshows - soooo much more powerful.

You can also set up any slide show so that at its end, it jumps to whatever file you want it to jump to. I strung together 8 different slide shows this way. One reason it's a good idea is because it only loads one show at a time (faster) and people can start it wherever they left off the last time, or at their favorite part.
Most of the time, I set my slide shows to give the option to replay.
But sometimes, I set them so that they automatically jump to the blog post about the event at the end. The setting for the jumping thing is right in the ShowIt controls, next to last page I think.

I've been learning to make DVD's on my iMac. The only problem I can see is the loss of quality in the photos. They're crystal clear on my mac slideshow but after they're converted and burned they lose they're clarity. Any suggestions?
david
p.s. As far as music goes, I create a new folder in iTunes and put whatever music I want in it. Then drag it to my slideshow.

So there are a lot of options here however if you really want to use the upload->export option for ShowIt DVD and make a REALLY long slideshow - you could combine ANY of your iTunes tracks.
On a Mac Simply goto GarageBand - open a new song. Drag your tracks one after the other after the other (so forth and so on) abutted together. Or you can have two tracks fading one out and the other in. Get as fancy as you like!!! Anyway - just check your combined tracks sound ok... Then goto the "Share" menu -> "Send Song to iTunes"
It'll do that - then in iTunes, under "Preferences -> Advanced -> Importing" look for "Import Using" - select MP3 Encoder. For the "Setting" I just choose "Higher Quality (192 kbps)".
Then find your newly created track again in itunes (should be in "YOURNAME Playlist") and either Ctrl-Click or Right-Click on the track - and look for "Convert selection to MP3". Convert away - find that track and drag it to your ShowIt Web Music folder - restart ShowIt Web and it should be there!!!
Now if I'm preaching to the choir - I apologize but hey....
Cheers,

Is there any way to get a menu option so I can click on each show individually to play it?
How do I go about ordering something like this?
Thanks.

Hey,
It's great that Showit-DVD can put multiple shows on one disc (this is news to me ... is this automated yet? pricing?)
If you want full control over your menu etc. and happen to use a PC (Mac support is coming soon) there's a tool in my sig that lets you assemble your Showit shows on DVD with ProShow Gold's help. Maybe worth a look ...
Then again, if this is a one-off, Showit-DVD might be a more economical option ...
Anyway, just thought it might be a useful thing to mention. Meanwhile I'm keen to hear exactly how Showit-DVD does the multi-show thing ...
