Hey guys,
I am looking for a good printer from Epson and I am sick and tired of r200 printer, the pictures are always smugged and I can not handle it anymore. Hoping you can help me find one under $200. Let me know if there are any goods and I do not mind buying from ebay. Thanks guys.

Can anyone suggest a printer?

I agree that lab prints are usually best and the least expensive but time is also money. Because on occasion I might not have the time I did want the option to print a small handfull of proofs here and there so I chose Canon's IP4300. It's way lower than your budget and it blows away some of the higher end models IMO. The specs on this model compare to more expensive models so check it. I can't find anything wrong with it's print quality.

I can't tell the visible difference between the lab print and the IP4300's on an 8x10. I use Ilford's smooth pearl paper and am very happy with the outcome.

I'll let you know after 30 years if the lab IP4300 print is fading more than the lab's smile.gif

Disclaimer: I play it safe and sell only lab prints as finals.

I used to have a love hate relationship with my Epson 1800R. Right now it's more hate than love.

The images are superb and seem to have more depth than those from my lab (Agfa D.Lab3). Closely inspected, it seems to have better detail as well.

However, everytime I turn the printer on, 3 out of 4 times, the nozzles are clogged and I have to run it through a cleaning cycle. I have tried to leave the printer on or turn it off, nothing seems to work.

This seems to be a very common problem with all Epson printers. Neither the HPs or Canon seem to have this problem so I wonder if it's a problem with Epson's inks or head design. A year ago I wouldn't say this but I now I'd suggest people look at Canon's printers closely before selecting Epson.
