My 5 year old was jumping on his bed last week and fell off and hit his head. He was having headaches and fever and I took him to the Dr. He checked him for a concusion, but ruled it out and said he had a cold. Michael has no symptoms of a cold at all no coughing sneezing ect ect but is still haveing throbbing headaches. He will be fine one minute and crying the next. Since the dr. is closed for the holiday weekend I am going to take him to the emergency room. I am waiting on my husband to get home and then we are going.

I'm glad you're taking him to the ER. Doctors can be wrong and it's important for you to listen to your own instincts. I get headaches like that after I had hit my head. It's important to check these things out be safe. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hope your little boy gets the OK from the emergency department and it's something as simple as a bruise or two. He looks adorable in the photos you posted.

Thanks guys. They checked hm out and said again there was no concusion. He is still having shooting pains though so I have a call in to the pediatrician hoping to get a recommendation to a chiropractor. I am also going to take him to the eye doctor in the morning to make sure it is not an eye issue.

Thanks for all of the prayers. I am still worried but calmer knowing that I have had 2 doctors look at him and ruled out a concusion.

Michael is eating better today but still in pain. We are pretty much just cuddling and watching movies.

I was going to recommend a chiropractor. You don't need a doctor's referal. Some doctors think chiros are quacks, others are really ok with them.

I would just ask around and see if your friends can recommend anyone. You would want to ask the chiro if they are used to treating children.

Lavender or peppermint (essential oil - make sure its pure though) works wonders for getting rid of headaches. Just rub it on his temples and the back of his neck.

I'm sure the ER doctors know what they are doing, but you didn't mention if they did an MRI or CAT scan to check for bleeding in the brain. Did they? Not trying to scare you, I've just been worried for you. That's what happened with me. Probably isn't the case with your little boy, but I've just have been a bit more careful with head injuries since having one myself. Please keep us posted.

Any news about the CT scan?

He went fot the CT yesterday. He did perfect for it. We have no news yet and it is driving us nuts! The doctor said we would get the results today. You would think that a little boy with headaches after a fall would set a fire under everyone to figure this out, but nope. It is frustrating.

Just got word from theDR. The Cat scan was clear. That is Good news!!! So what is causing his headaches?? Gonna Take him to the Eye DR. and Chiropractor. I am sooooooo GLAD the ct came back clear. Thanks you Lord.

Also I am so thankful that we have insurance!
