So what organizations are you a member of. I have been a member if WPPI, and it does not seem like they give you much. I didn't even get a magazine for my 100 bucks a year. I have nothing against them, just thinking out loud.
PPA is far more spendy. WPPI does have a cool convention every year.... Are there other ones you like? Are you a member of both? Or neither? Or some other group?

With WPPI, do you not get the RAngefinder magazine? I know that I do.

I get Rangefinder for free- and I'm not a member of WPPI. I just subscribed to it online- so the magazine isn't a membership Perk.

Rangefinder has been offering their magazine free to photographers for a while now link.
So I get my subscription free without a WPPI membership.

Rangefinder comes with WPPI membership, and like Mark wrote, they'll give it to you free if you ask. I got mine free for a year before I signed on with WPPI.

And I disagree that you get nothing with WPPI. For one, you get professional membership recognition which can be valuable in the minds of your clients ... they consider your affiliation as being active in the pro community.

Plus, WPPI does offer a number of other services to members, not to speak of the prestigious print competitions and Trade Show.
