has anyone had success with advertising with www.theknot.com i want to see what is best as far as advertising and getting my name out there. i had read numerous posts stating word of mouth is best (and i agree)...but is there other options??

i just launched my site...let me know what you think (critiques, suggestions, praises??). www.yophotography.com

Thanks!

True, word of mouth is best. But I advertise on the Knot and it pays off well for me. Do a rockin' job for a Knottie bride and chances are she'll use the forums to tell others about it.

your site looks great!!! nice stuff. the only thing i'd suggest is changing out the front page 4 pictures to ones that are not similar to each other. I get that you were trying to have colors that worked together and individually they are great pictures, but i'd like to see more attention grabbing images on the front page, even if that means they sort of "clash" with each other.

theknot will work well for you at your price range. it's how i got started in la, and then was able stop advertising. but yes, beware the message boards.

I'm advertising with the knot and I get a lot of traffic because of them. I'm not sure where you are, but the more photogs in your area, the more likely you are to get lost in the mix. Dallas has way too many people on to really get a lot of attention.

All in all - I like the knot.
