I've been using Show It Web for all my slideshows and loved the program. Couldn't wait to try the DVD option when DJ introduced it. I added the option to purchase a DVD of all the wedding images into each of my event shopping carts and within the first week I had a sale! I priced the DVD at $375 (for all the wedding images) and a friend of the couple bought a copy. (This wedding had less than 400 images.)

I placed the order with ShowIt-DVD and within a week I had the finished DVD. The packaging was "sleek". The label (I chose B&W) looks better in person and it had the couples name, date and my copyright info. I did include a photo which they put a 4x5 mat over on the left hand side of the case. The case itself was tissue wrapped in a black box that I can put one of my studio stickers over.

All in all it was WELL worth the cost (especially since I didn't have to do any of the work!) I can't wait to order the next DVD!

I had to write Todd to find out that you can use as many images as you want in the Slideshow but the entire DVD has to be less than 30 minutes in length. I only used one song but it did loop when done.

One thing I noticed on the finished DVD was that the DVD compression codec caused the detail in the upper midtones to be lost (so whites had no detail and looked blown out.) My husband, who is a pro videographer (as well as photographer) tells me this can be avoided by pulling down the upper midrange tones with a custom curve. (Something which he already created and has used himself, but didn't tell me about until he saw my finished DVD!!!)

He would be more than happy to share this custom curve should anyone want a copy.

If you haven't already ordered a ShowIt-DVD, get one soon! It is a GREAT product!

I have to agree. I was very pleased with the final product from SI-DVD. The only thing I can suggest for DJ is to use better disc hubs in their packaging (or at least put some tissue paper INSIDE the package between the disc and photo.

Reason being, the DVD had a tough time staying on the hub and moved around a bit in transport, which is just inviting scratches.

Nevertheless, great product and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. smile.gif

I've been thinking about the advantages of posting ShowIt videos -- especially with the new DVD option. Welcome to OSP and thanks for the great testimonial and mid-range curves suggestion, MJ!

I'm interested in seeing the custom curves your husband has created. Thanks.

Todd said the DVD purchase option has not been working lately due to some technical issues they're working on. But he was kind enough to reach out and ask me for the details of the DVD so he could get one made for my client! Awesome service, I can't wait to see final product! Has anyone else experienced the Purchase DVD error yet?

Stoked to hear Todd's been taking care of you! smile.gif .... We've been receiveing orders every day so I think it must've been just a momentary hickup.

Just purchased this at last sale and have yet to try it. However I would love the custom curve thingy if you still offer to share.

Reading between the lines here, but it kinda sounds like the timing on the dvd wouldn't necessarily be exactly as the timing in the web show. That would be a problem for me. Haven't ordered one yet. Can you guys tell me if the timing is exactly the same or not?

The first wedding of this season, I decided to do it allr ith. I started my brand new blog with their images, included a link to the slideshow and web gallery and they just fell in love with it all! It's only been posted for a couple weeks and the bride just called me and said she's watched the web show sooo many times she just has to own it. So I directed her to the link for purchase (I e-mailed customer service to make sure it would get to her by the time she wanted- for a family party this weekend- they got back to me right away, suggested she upgrade the shipping, and she was completely happy) and I just got the shipping notice in my e-mail today and it should be there with time to spare! She just ordered it FRIDAY!

Thanks so much DJ, I know she will be thrilled, and the turnaround is awsome. I have confidence that even though this is my first order and I won't even get to see it before my customer, that it will be exactally as it should. That means a lot to have that kind of confidence!

Is there an option to just download a ISO Image of the DVD after it is created?
I just dont want the DVD beeing shipped from the USA to Germany.
I want to burn the DVD for my clients, but to do so i need the ISO of the finished DVD.

Maybe this is a point to think about.

One more thing to mention.
You have the NTSC Videoformat. In Europe we have PAL.
Not sure if that makes any difference for the ShowItDVD
