So I installed CS3 on my G5 and my macbook, and although its faster on the macbook it seems to be missing a few elements
first off in bridge i dont have the "photoshop, illustrator, and indesign commands in the tools pull down menu. also when i use the image processor to say apply an action and turn raw images to jpegs, the corrected image will not close, muckin' up my start-up disk. Also I found that Alien skin exposure works on the G5 but not on the macbook pro. Anyone having the same problems or am I the only idiot.

We're having some fun issues as well. We're running a G5 and a Mac Pro and some of our action sets have been rendered stupid.

You're not alone.

which machine are the actions bad on

I am also seeing an issue with CS3 on my MacBook Pro, actually 2 issues. When I open Bridge, my presents are no longer available via the right-mouse-click, I don't know where those went. The other issue is a bit more annoying. When processing a batch of images through image processor PShop would crash and it simply tells me that PShop unexpectedly crashed and if I want to send a report to Apple or reopen PShop. I have done both already. But then, I run the batch process from where it left off and "most of the time" it will complete the job without PShop crashing again, but a few times it has crashed for a second time.

If anyone is seeing this issue and has a resolution, please share.

We haven't had to do anything that drastic, but I had no idea the transition from a PowerMac G5 to an Intel MacPro would be the ordeal that it has been.

I especially didn't like being strong-armed into getting CS3. I was really happy with CS2 but it was buggy and slow on the 'Pro with 5 GB of RAM huh.gif !

And the Kubota people could care less if their entire action set works. To them most might as well be all. mad.gif

Bleh.

The price of progress...

Maybe I am not a very heavy user of PShop, and I only have KK Action Pack 2 and his RAW presets, along with some actions of my own and as far as I can tell, they work fine. Granted, I haven't gone down the list running everyone of them, but all the ones I was using most of the time in CS2 work fine in CS3.

Try the 4x6 Even borders with Keyline action.

Most of the others work.

PS CS3 is still a buggy bugger though. Bridge too.

and so now my image processor is not working again
should I reinstall cs3 everytime I need to batch or use the image processor
