Hey there,

Does anyone have advice on photographing Jewish ceremonies? I've got one in a couple weeks and am not sure what to expect. Thanks a million! read2.gif

I think Jewish weddings are so fun. The ceremony contains a lot of traditions. The breaking of glass is one. The receptions are usually crazy but alot of fun. It is one big/loud party.

Expect a good time! For some reason Jews know how to have fun! smile.gif

There's an article in the new "Professional Photographer" about exactly this question. I think it's in the first few pages. It says what to make sure you get, and what happens, and what it signifies. Very short (a couple pages and mostly photos), but informative.

Thank you! Thank you! Will check out the article and be ready for a good time. Take care... clap.gif

wierd I thought I replied earlier but I dont see my post... I must be going crazy wacko.gif

Anyway, Jewish ceremonies are really a blast! When the groom stomps on the glass get a shot when he raises his leg, you'll need to be quick! Trying to get a shot when he actually stomps almost always results in a picture where it looks like he's just standing funny and everyone is looking at his feet laughing.gif

Have a great time and be prepared for everything during the reception... it can get crazy and move fast...

smile.gif A few posts will be lost from yesterday and today because the server is "propogating" ...I dunno what that really means but the jist of it is that the new info has to be passed around the country so everyone is being directed to the same place....kinda weird but the new server will be much better!

aahhhh... so I'm not loosing it.... I think. Now to wait for the propogation to end... unsure.gif

It'll be cool to have a new, freshly propogated server though! thumbsup.gif

(I have no idea what I am talking about laughing.gif )

LOL... smile.gif

I think it may be almost complete! If you go to OpenSourcePhoto.net and see a v.2 at the top then you are good to go!
